VC in Web2 Accuses DWF Labs Partner of Assault
A Web2 venture capital professional and Web3 enthusiast, Hana (@hananotsorry), recently shared her alleged assault experience involving a partner from DWF Labs on social media platform X. On X, Hana’s about section indicates that she is a “Web2 VC” but still exploring Web3.
Claim of Drink Spiking by DWF Labs Partner
According to Hana, she was invited by a DWF Labs partner to discuss a potential work project in Hong Kong. While meeting him on the evening of October 24, Hana reports that her drink was spiked when she briefly left to use the restroom. “I never thought I’d personally experience something like this,” Hana shared in her post, explaining that upon her return, she took a few sips of her drink before the partner stepped outside to make a call.
Waitress Warns of Spiked Drink
Hana explained that a waitress, noticing suspicious activity, quickly approached her and warned that her drink had been tampered with. “I was shocked,” Hana said, recounting her initial reaction, “and all I wanted to do was leave the situation.” Despite feeling increasingly dizzy, she attempted to step outside. However, her alleged attacker tried to prevent her, making unwelcome advances and insisting, “come with me, I have a suite at the Murray.”
CCTV Evidence Supports Her Claims
Following the incident, Hana reported the assault to the local police. She gathered CCTV footage from the venue, which she claims captures her drink being spiked multiple times. “I’m lucky enough to have been saved by the waitress,” Hana stated, describing her relief at escaping further harm. She has since expressed her desire to bring awareness to this issue to prevent similar incidents, encouraging others to “trust your instincts, no matter who you are with.
Calls for Vigilance in Professional Settings
Hana’s account has sparked widespread concern and discussions around safety in professional environments, especially within the crypto and Web3 spaces. She has since offered support to others with similar experiences, sharing, “if you’ve experienced something similar, I want you to know you’re not alone.”
