Binance and KuCoin to Airdrop Tokens to Support Disaster Relief Efforts
Crypto Exchanges Offer Support to Typhoon Yagi Victims
As Typhoon Yagi devastates Vietnam, crypto companies are stepping up to provide aid. With the death toll surpassing 250, and over 800 injuries reported, Binance and KuCoin have announced airdrop donations to support victims of the strongest storm to hit Southeast Asia this year.
Binance Commits $1 Million for Relief Efforts
In partnership with its charity arm, Binance has pledged to airdrop BNB tokens worth $1 million to affected users. Residents of 25 northern cities in Vietnam will receive $50 in BNB if they completed proof-of-address (POA) registration before Sept. 10. Those who register later will receive $20 in BNB.
KuCoin Airdrops KCS Tokens to Affected Users
KuCoin is also extending aid, announcing an airdrop of 10,000 KCS tokens, equivalent to $80,000. Users who verified their accounts and conducted transactions between Aug. 1 and Sept. 12 will receive $20 in KCS tokens. KuCoin will distribute donations starting on Sept. 18, using back-end data to identify eligible users in the disaster-affected areas.
Crypto Industry Responds to Humanitarian Crisis
The efforts from Binance and KuCoin mark a significant contribution from the crypto industry in times of humanitarian need. As relief efforts continue, these airdrops aim to provide immediate financial assistance to those affected by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam.
